Shortest Wait Times (Magic Kingdom Edition)

By November 22, 2017 April 8th, 2019 No Comments

Welcome to Believe Vacation’s quest to find THE GREATEST DISNEY ATTRACTION OF ALL TIME!  Today, we look at which Magic Kingdom attractions have the shortest wait times.  Whereas in the past, the more popular attractions would dominate the top tiers, in today’s poll results, you may see some unfamiliar attractions make their debut in the top tiers.  Attractions we determined to have shorter wait times were given higher scores and once we tallied the votes, we decided on the following:

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER

Peter Pan’s Flight – The only thing that does not fly is the time for which you have to wait in line.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – As long as this is still the newest attraction in the Magic Kingdom, lines will be lines…

Space Mountain – …of course, it’s been decades and lines for this attraction still have not dwindled!

Astro Orbiter –  Reasonable during the day but best of luck to you getting on in a timely manner once the sun goes down.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Another attraction that may benefit more at night.  Like going from 45 to 55 minutes…

Splash Mountain – Or in the case of this attraction, 55 to 60 minutes!

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – I, as well as other parents, underestimate that Winnie the Pooh is still this popular amongst our kids.

It’s a Small World – Any trip around the world is worth waiting for so we’ll give this one a break.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Now that they’ve added a 2nd one, wait times have calmed.  But adding an interactive play place while you wait off set that in a hurry.

ALMOST THERE

The Barnstormer- The roller coaster daring enough for weak adults and bold enough for brave kids.  Not too long of a line but not a “step right up” attraction.

Mad Tea Party – Call me crazy but I’m not crazy, or for that matter, MAD, about waiting any amount of time to make myself dizzy.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – While there are 2 other rotating flying attractions on this list, this one has shorter waits because it is in the less popular Adventureland and it’s the newer of the 3.

Jungle Cruise – This one really depends on the time of day.  First thing in the morning, you may actually get a chance to drive the boat.  Later at night, and you’ll be hearing those quirky overhead pages for a long time.

Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid – Omnimover attractions always reduce the wait time by a good amount.  For this attraction, there are bigger and more impressive thrill rides that surround it, thus limiting the wait time.

Haunted Mansion – Once again with the Omnimover but some people may just be getting tired of the Haunted Mansion.  That is until when the sun sets and the attraction begins to take on a life of its own!

Enchanted Tales with Belle – If you are going to wait a while to meet a character, you might as well get an entire attraction experience out of it.  This glorified character meet-and-greet will always have steady wait times.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – It’s not even the best Toy Story shooting attraction at Disney World.  But that doesn’t keep it from being a very popular attraction with a tolerable wait time.

Pirates of the Caribbean –  Don’t let a line out into the streets of Adventureland fool you.  The queue area is spacious, well-themed and goes by very quickly as you board boats that fit a large capacity.

Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor- Your wait is only as long as the next show.  Just remember to take the much needed break to sit down for a minute and text in your favorite jokes.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic – Another show, use the quick rest to get in out of the sun/rain/weather but don’t forget your Opry Glasses!

ONE JUMP AHEAD

Swiss Family Treehouse – Go whenever you want, go at your own pace, enjoy all or as much as you want.  Usually an attraction you have to actually be determined to visit, this long-time classic will provide fun for all ages.  A great time-killer as well for small children who may not be able to handle Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean or the mountains of Frontierland.

Liberty Square Riverboat – There’s plenty of room on the boat.  This half-mile journey is oft-overlooked but it will provide you unique views of your favorite Frontierland attractions, settlements and storefronts from the early days of the Frontier Age, all narrated by Mark Twain.  So take some time out of your busy schedule to ride and enjoy not having to wait for the next boat!

Did we miss anything?  Is there an attraction you think has a longer or shorter wait time than we thought?  Leave your comments in the section below and as always, there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
