Over the past 2 weeks, my heart literally sank. There was a nasty, dirty, ugly rumor that after years of selling out Bear Hall, the doors were finally closing for good on the County Bear Jamboree. For a music lover like me, this attraction has some fun tunes to sing with my kids and before then, I remember seeing the show with my parents in the 80s. It’s a multi-generational attraction. A CLASSIC! And thankfully, it’s here to stay for a few more years. But that got me thinking of today’s article:
Welcome to Believe Vacations’ Weekly Post where today, you’ll find out why some of our agents still do the “Classic” Attractions. For this article, I simply asked the agents which classic attractions they still do and why. As our parks become more personal and interactive, as we continue to welcome Marvel, Star Wars and other franchises, there are still some that are always going to be nostalgic and these are our favorites:
Hunter Anderson (Vacation Planner) – I always have to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain! And dare I say, the Tiki Room is a must every time. I remember listening to the Disneyland soundtrack growing up and loved it’s music!
Tiffany Bigelow (Vacation Planner) – Classics are important and mine are mostly at Magic Kingdom. For me, it’s Dumbo, it’s a small world, People Mover, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain!
Robin Bratton (Vacation Planner) – For me, it’s Carousel of Progress and it’s a small world!
Taryn French (Vacation Planner) – We love doing Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party, it’s a small world, and Dumbo!
Kerry Murdock (Vacation Planner) – At WDW, we always do the People Mover, Pirates and Carousel of Progress. But for Disneyland, it’s the Matterhorn and Subs!
Christina Pownall (Vacation Planner) – Tower of Terror! It will always be in the Top 5. Just so much fun! But I still really miss the Great Movie Ride.
Kristi Shipp (Vacation Planner) – For me, it’ll always be it’s a Small World, Gran Fiesta Tour and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Angela Wehling (Vacation Planner) – Because it’s getting up there in age, I’ll call Rock N’ Roller Coaster a classic. I can’t go to Hollywood Studios and not ride it!
Amanda Wheeling (Vacation Planner) – For me, it’s Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Winnie-the-Pooh and Splash Mountain.
Whitney White (Vacation Planner) – We have always enjoyed the People Mover, Swiss Family Treehouse and Peter Pan!
Dana Zachry (Vacation Planner) – My stepdad always loved Country Bear Jamboree and Living with the Land. We still do them even without him and have a lot of great memories laughing with him when “Liver Lips” took the stage.
Kasie Baird (Senior Vacation Planner) – Definitely it’s a small world, Peter Pan and Winnie-the-Pooh. Also, I love Big Thunder Mountain!
Kyle Holland (Senior Vacation Planner) – My “Big Four” at Magic Kingdom are my must dos and I could walk to the park, do these 4 and walk out content. Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise. Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain would make it the “Ideal Six.”
Brian Pavlick (Senior Vacation Planner) – Regardless of how old it is, I’ll always ride the Haunted Mansion. Even today, the ghost projections are amazing. Grim Grinning Ghosts is one of my favorite songs ever and the hitchhiking ghosts make me smile every time. I can’t wait to hurry back to it and you might even say I’m dying to go!
Sarah Holton (Lead Vacation Planner) – At the Magic Kingdom, I have to do it’s a small world, the PeopleMover, Pirates, Tiki Room, and Carousel of Progress. Honestly, all of the classics are important to me! Also want to mention “Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA/Trolley Song.”
At EPCOT, it’s Spaceship Earth, Imagination (Figment Forever!), O Canada!, The American Adventure.
Mary-Morning Radcliffe (Owner) – So I have 10 🙂
- It’s a small world – I’ve always loved this ride and always will no matter what the haters say
- Peter Pan’s Flight – It’s just so cute and sweet and gives me the feels every time. Plus, I love Peter Pan!
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Haunted Mansion
- Tower of Terror (if I’m without my kids)
- Rock’n Roller Coaster – It reminds me so much of my teenage years
- Space Mountain – Even though it’s a little rough, I still have so much nostalgia from my teenage years, again. Plus, I really love the queue!
- Spaceship Earth
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – I must say, I’d be ok with a refurb on this one, but I absolutely love Figment!
- The OLD Test Track – I used to love this queue also!
And there you go, another CLASSIC article. What are your classics? We’ll leave with our classic ending, There’s a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
