Welcome to Believe Vacations’ Article Series: Love Is In The Air – A Disney Love Story! For our second article, we highlight two our our newer agents, Austin Vahle and Doug Tatters. After over 100 trips to the multiple Disney parks, Austin joined in July of 2020 and has created many of the amazing graphics you have seen in our Christmas giveaway series and also our graphic for this series. In November of 2020, Doug joined our team and put his MS in Hospitality and Tourism Management to good use. Here is their Disney love story:
You must first learn to love yourself…
Disney truly is the place where magic happens. From falling in love to truly understanding what it means to love yourself; Disney has had a life changing effect on both Doug and Austin. These two fellow Believers met during their Disney College Program back in 2018. Disney has a truly remarkable way of connecting individuals from all over the country and even world. Doug being from Pennsylvania and Austin from Kentucky, would never have met if it wasn’t for their experience with Disney. They started out as friends who lived in the same apartment complex originally meeting on the DCP Facebook page. They texted and Facetimed beforehand knowing that they would become good friends when arriving in Florida but ultimately had no idea what it would lead to. From hanging out in Disney Springs, going to some of Disney’s famous restaurants, and park hoping, their friendship grew into something more. With the help of Austin, co-workers, friends, and the magic of Disney, Doug was able to truly discover what it means to love yourself and came out to his family. “There aren’t even words that can describe the true magic Disney has” Doug stated, “It’s a feeling, a type of comfort, and all what it takes to understand it is to just trust and believe.”

During their college program they remained friends and eventually moved back to their home states to finish college. They continued to talk and keep in-touch with each other while apart. In 2019, Doug was offered another position with the Disney College Program. It was then again where while he was in Disney, Austin and Doug decided to take a chance and officially turn their friendship into a relationship. It may have been a long-distance relationship, but they made it work. For the next year, they took turns going to see each other once or twice a month. Many of these visits took place in Disney and then in their respected home states. This past spring, Doug decided to make the move to be with Austin after graduating college in May. In June of 2020, Doug packed-up his life to Kentucky and has been there to this day. Disney has not only been a big part in the foundation of their relationship, but it continues to be a reminder that they would not be where they are today without it. They both are new members of the Believe family and hope to help individuals, couples, and families create memories that will last a lifetime as well as experience the Disney magic they were so lucky to discover.
