queue – (kyo͞o/)
noun – a line or sequence of people or vehicles awaiting their turn to be attended to or to proceed.
Because no one likes lines. But the word “queue” makes it sound…interesting? In fact, lines for Disney rides…excuse me, queues for Disney attractions, are half of the fun. Some of the more creative parts of Disney Parks comes when you are standing around waiting. Therefore, it adds to the overall attraction experience and thus, we have to judge them like the others we’ve done.
Welcome to Believe Vacations weekly post where today, we’ll look at which Non-Magic Kingdom queues our agents thought were the best. To make sure everyone is on the same page, the queue area is going to be defined as the moment you walk under the stand-by entrance sign to the moment you begin the main attraction. So let’s see how it all shakes out this week:
Seriously, these are just lines!
TriceraTop Spin – Step right up, make a short circle and board the dino.
Living with the Land – This queue is about as exciting as boarding a carousel in the food court at the mall.
The American Adventure – Not too much to get excited about entering a nice Colonial house.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – Located inside the Mexico exhibit at Epcot, the big portraits on the wall are similar to Chuck E. Cheese.
Turtle Talk with Crush – Unfortunately, waiting for the main show is like sitting at the bottom of a fishbowl.
Spaceship Earth – The initial winding is boring but the ramp leading into the structure is a cool moment.
Soarin around the World – While the actual queue may not be impressive, the symphony sounds of the soundtrack will always put a smile on your face.
Primeval Whirl – We’re going to give this one points for the carnival lights that will brighten up the night sky!
Kilimanjaro Safaris –The covered huts are a nice touch. The visual descriptions and native names of the animals you may encounter are very educational.
Mission: Space – The planets outside are intimidating. The warning signs of the Orange experience are creepy and the rest is…well, okay.
Okay, I’ll call it a queue.

Star Tours: The Adventure Continues -That music! Those beeps from R2D2! Those instructions and warnings from C3P0! A perfect queue for Star Wars fans!

Journey into Imagination with Figment – The laboratory setting is a nice touch and anything with Eric Idle, Rick Moranis and Robin Williams should be an instant hit. Constantly playing “One Little Spark” is like the Epcot version of “It’s a Small World.”

Dinosaur – It’s like going into a museum…that you actually want to be in! The Jurassic knowledge and artifacts are cool but Mr. Dino Bones in the middle of the atrium is awesome!

It’s Tough to be a Bug – Remember, I said from the time you walk under the Stand-By sign. So all the carved out animal figures in the Tree of Life count and it is one of the most creative pieces in all of Disney Parks.

Test Track -We are counting the design area as part of the pre-show but the queue is still awesome. Incredible Chevrolet cars and futuristic models for you to view make the time pass pretty quickly.

Rock N Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith -Really, we have 2 parts here. First, we have the very boring, stand behind each other until you get to the pre-show line. Then you wait in the back alley for your limo and that queue area is Crazy!

Toy Story Midway Mania – It’s fun seeing all your favorite Toy Story characters and over-sized toys you played with growing up. But the living Mr. Potato Head, one of the greatest animatronics in all Disney Parks, helps this queue get a tremendous score.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – That haunting music from decades ago, the dusty lobby of the hotel with the dead plants and dim lighting creates the unearthly mood that prepares you for the elevator!

Kali River Rapids – If you are a fan of intricate designs and decorations then KRR is the perfect queue for you. The authentic Asian soundtrack that accompanies it makes you forget you are in Central Florida and rather inside a temple!
Are you sure this isn’t the main attraction?

Frozen Ever After -Welcome to Arendelle! Seriously, you are right in the middle of the village, awaiting to enter the castle of Queen Elsa and her friends. From Oaken’s Tokens and Sauna to the loading dock of your boat, you’ll never want to let the memories of this queue go!

Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain – When we say there is too much to mention, we mean it. Take time to enjoy the personal photos of the people of Nepal, old radio equipment, intricate statues, flags hanging from the clothes lines and don’t forget that infamous “Respect the Yeti” sign. We haven’t even gotten to the actual attraction yet but this queue has us wanting to go back a second time.

Muppet*Vision 3D – First, the music is comprised of songs from the Muppet movies so that’s a huge win. Then, you actually enter the prop area of the Muppet Theater but don’t forget to look under the mat for a key! The actual props are fun if you’re a huge Muppet fan but even if you are not, the pre-show movie will make you one.
Did we miss anything? Which queue do you actually enjoy waiting in? Leave us a comment in the section below and as always, there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
