Welcome to Believe Vacation’s quest to find THE GREATEST DISNEY ATTRACTION OF ALL TIME as we continue with our agent voting results. This week, we look at which Magic Kingdom attractions our agents thought had the best use of technology. Results were then placed into tiers depending on cumulative score.
WHAT YEAR IS IT? RIGHT AROUND THE TURN OF THE CENTURY?
Swiss Family Treehouse – A self-guided tour on what can be described as an over-sized playground doesn’t need too much technology for fun.
Liberty Square Riverboat – The boat itself is fun and the quick trip is actually a nice break AWAY FROM technology.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – Horses going round and round is simple and basic in it’s most purest form.
The Barnstormer – A kid-sized roller coaster that last less than a half-minute to conclude doesn’t allow for too much extra fluff.
Walt Disney World Railroad – Nostalgia is the opposite of technology. Not that it is a bad thing.
Country Bear Jamboree – Talking bears and animals should have been higher on the technology list but my colleagues seem to disagree with me!
Mad Tea Party – Revolving cups on a platform are as basic as any Scrambler-like version at the county fair.
PeopleMover – Yes, it is futuristic in setting but you can simply enjoy Tomorrowland on your own personalized monorail without too many bells and whistles.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Our first shocker of the first tier, but outside of the bouncing Hunny Pots, I guess it really is just a journey through a few scenes of our favorite yellow bear.
“it’s a small world” – Little talking dolls singing may not be too far out there but the personalized greeting at the end is an amazing touch!
Carousel of Progress – Would you believe that the attraction about progress in technology didn’t even make it out of the first tier?!
Astro Orbiter – First of 3 simple round and round in the air on themed flying vehicle.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – We mentioned in a previous post the lack of animatronics on this one but do not let the low score discredit it from being incredibly fun!
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – Second of 3 simple round and round in the air on themed flying vehicle.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Third of 3 simple round and round in the air on themed flying vehicle.
Peter Pan’s Flight – Completely shocked at this one simply because the simulation of flying over London is amazing!
A NEW AGE OF ELECTRONIC CIVILIZATION IS UPON US.

The Hall of Presidents – Looking into the past with technology that brings the former US Presidents alive, this attraction gets points for the speeches alone.

Enchanted Tiki Room – It’s tough to have 1 animatronic sync up with vocals and sings let alone hundreds of birds!

Splash Mountain – Don’t just think this attraction is one big drop and nothing more. The “Welcome Home” scene is nothing short of the party it portrays.

Jungle Cruise – No they are not real animals and no the gun fired by the skipper is not real but all we ask for is a near-lifelike experience and this wild adventure provides it.

Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid – The “Under the Sea” room truly is one of the more remarkable ones on all Disney attractions but the Ursula animatronic is intimidating, in-your-face and incredible!

Space Mountain – The blast off simulation is a technological marvel but being pulled through the starry night of space is an out-of-this-world experience!

Pirates of the Caribbean – Decades ago, the animatronics alone would have been ok for this tier. But since the digitized projections from the movie franchise have been added, Pirates now becomes a truly advanced experience.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic – I am a sucker for 3D, let alone 4D. So when my favorite Disney characters stimulate my sight, smell, sound and senses, you have to provide a round of applause to the Imagineers.

Haunted Mansion – A master of technological advances since the 70s, it’s the timeless classic that never grows old and the scares and thrills will always keep you asking “How do they do that?”

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – Over-stimulation has a name and it is this attraction! Lasers and noises and vivid colors and moving shooting stations all create a tremendous cacophony of creative chaos.

Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor – As with Turtle Talk with Crush, simply digitizing a character alone is something to be proud of. Taking that projection and live-interacting with the audience can not be topped.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – But it’s just a roller coaster, right? That is until you get to the diamond mine and you realize just how far the fluidity of the animatronics have come in a few decades time.
IT’S A GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW!

Enchanted Tales with Belle – If you’ve been paying attention, this attraction is consistently in the higher tiers. It’s showcase of technology may be the reason while it’s remembered overall. Yes, meeting Belle is great but getting from Maurice’s house to the castle will leave you in awe. Talking to the household objects-now come to life is surreal. And the overall experience will grow to be a tale as old as time!
