Pepsi or Coke, Beach or the Mountains, Birthdays or Unbirthdays; we all have our preferences in this world. Sometimes we prefer products or choices based on nostalgia; others by truly believing one is better than the other. The same goes for Disney attractions and how we as guests view each one. Over the next few months, we are going to be revealing the results of a recent voting challenge that our Authorized Disney Vacation Planning Agents gave each other. The topics and the results will be announced weekly as we lead up to our grand reveal of OUR ALL-TIME GREATEST DISNEY ATTRACTION! You would think voting would be as clear as night and day so speaking of that….
Welcome to Believe Vacations Weekly article where today, we begin our voting challenge by announcing which attractions we prefer to ride in the day and which we prefer to ride at night. For this list, we simply asked each other, “Is the attraction better in the day or the night?” Then we took the majority and went from there. We wound up with 18 attractions that we voted on and as an extra bonus, I’m including some feedback from our agents as to why they made the choice they did for each one. So we hope you enjoy this team article as it will help you plan your days in the parks and decide when you should experience each attraction.
Must Experience at Night Attractions

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Sarah Holton ([email protected]) – “One of the best things about enjoying an attraction at dusk or evening is getting to see the park lit up with all the twinkling up-lights and mood-setting area lights. Riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at night lets you take in the full view of Frontierland from its peaks, and the darkness gives “the wildest ride in the wilderness” an extra dose of mystery, almost like riding a rail car through an old western ghost town.”

Astro Orbiter – Becky Willis ([email protected]) – “Astro Orbiter is better at night! The neon lights in Tomorrowland make it far more space-like. Plus you get views of Cinderella’s castle lit up while you ride!”
Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Brian Doeble ([email protected]) – “I enjoy Dumbo at night, being able to see everything lit up and of course, the shorter lines help too!!”

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – Mary-Morning Radcliffe ([email protected]) – “The vibrant music and neon lights bring Tomorrowland to life at night. The Peoplemover takes you on a tour through Tomorrowland, so this is the best place to sit back, relax, and take in all of the views of the futuristic land.”
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – Whitney Turner ([email protected]) – “I like the Carrousel at dusk because the sun setting and the warm glow makes your pictures just dreamy.”
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – Christie Pownall ([email protected]) – “The Magic Carpets of Aladdin allows you to look at all the adventures in Adventureland while you are soaring through the sky!”
It’s a Small World – Jennifer Neal ([email protected]) – “it’s a small world is a great break from the heat and the whole family can look for Hidden Mickeys.”
Must Experience in the Daytime Attractions
Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain – Mary-Morning Radcliffe ([email protected]) – “The roller coaster takes place both indoors and outdoors, but I feel like the details of the mountain are much easier to see during the daytime.”
The Barnstormer – Kyle Holland ([email protected]) – “When it was in Mickey’s Toon Town, it was always neat to ride over the top of Toon Town and see it alive with kids!”
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Sarah Holton ([email protected]) – “Part of the appeal and thrill of a ride like Tower of Terror is being so high up in the air that you are ever-so-slightly worried about how you’ll ever make it back down. The daytime view out the open elevator shaft lets you see for literal miles, emphasizing just how far you have to drop to return to the safety of Sunset Blvd. Full impact and a thrill indeed!”
Test Track – Ryan Rocha ([email protected]) – “Test Track is better in the day because the anticipation for the “speed test” portion of the ride is enhanced by the sunlight coming in behind the doors before you go to the outside track. It’s also an air conditioned line!”
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Kyle Holland ([email protected]) – “Since it’s just such a happy cheerful and fun ride, it’s nice to walk outside after into the bright sunshine to continue the rest of your day in an extra happy mood.”

Jungle Cruise – Becky Willis ([email protected]) – “Pardon me for being Captain Obvious (or Skipper Obvious ?) but Jungle Cruise is much more enjoyable during the day when you can actually see it all!”
Tomorrowland Speedway- Jennifer Neal ([email protected]) – “It’s a good photo op, especially if you have someone on the overpass.”

Mad Tea Party – Ryan Rocha ([email protected]) – “Mad Tea Party might be better during the day because you at least haven’t eaten dinner and then won’t lose it while you’re spinning around.”
Couldn’t Make Up Our Minds
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Christie Pownall ([email protected]) – “Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train is best during the daytime when you can catch a cool breeze and see the sights of New Fantasyland!”
Tiffany Bigelow ([email protected]) -“Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ? is super fun at night! Harder to see the track and you just never know which way you are about to go, giving it a little more thrill!”

Splash Mountain
Whitney Turner ([email protected]) – “I like Splash Mountain during the day simply because the quality of your on-ride photo is better!”
Tiffany Bigelow ([email protected]) – “Splash Mountain is fun at night! ?. The drop towards the end has a little bit more thrill! Just love singing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah at the end too! ?”
Haunted Mansion – Brian Pavlick ([email protected]) – “It only makes sense that The Haunted Mansion would be a better experience at night. The whole spooky house thing plays along with the backdrop of a hot, Florida sunset. But, I always enjoy the outside queue area when the sun is out because they have made for some awesome photo ops for my family!”
