June 2020
Pros
Disney Villains After Hours – Your favorite bad guys join you in taking over Magic Kingdom after hours.
New Openings? – March will see a few new openings that will bring new excitement to the parks. While there are no official dates for this next group, they have been advertised as Summer 2020 so we should put them in this month, you know, just in case:
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – Family-friendly, trackless dark ride based on the movie in the France Pavilion
Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure – EPCOT’s interactive scavenger hunt game replacing Phineas and Ferb
Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant – Themed backyard BBQ experience at Hollywood Studios with Andy and his toys
Longer park hours = possible nap time? – The sun takes its sweet time setting in June in Florida and with that, the parks may stay open a little later. What that means for most families is a welcomed mid-day respite where a return to an air-conditioned room at your resort of choice is heaven and a few moments of shut eye is divine enough to re-charge those batteries for the rest of the night.
Free Dining – Enjoy your 4-night, 4 park hopper ticket stay with free dining. Possible dates include 6/27-6/28. Has to be booked by January 16th.
Cons
Summer Crowds, Summer Rates and Summer Weather = Not the most magical – As we mentioned above, there will still be some larger crowds with school being out for Summer. But June is also one of the top-end months with regards to resort and ticket pricing. And if the heat doesn’t get you, the random rain showers will be a nice relief, until the sun comes back out and the humidity kicks in.
Attraction Closures – While most of the closures and refurbishments happen in the Spring, there are a couple of attractions that will be closure for lengthy to permanent reasons:
Stitch’s Great Escape – Closed (Possibly Permanent)
Walt Disney World Railroad – Closed December 2018-TBA
Spaceship Earth – Closed Last May 2020 – TBA
