phWelcome to Believe Vacations Top 10 where we continue our the GREATEST DISNEY ATTRACTION OF ALL TIME. This week, we conclude the voting results for Which Attractions Have the Greatest Amount of History associated with them by looking at Magic Kingdom attractions. For this list, our team was asked to rank attractions based on how each one has the most history associated with it. The total scores are grouped into clusters and that’s what you have in front of you. Okay, okay, enough explanation, let’s get to the attractions!
Zero to Little History
Stitch’s Great Escape! – It was all downhill once it replaced Alien Encounter.
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – Prime real on the corner of Tomorrowland has not this attraction.
Enchanted Tales with Belle – Not even 5 years old, give this attraction more time.
The Barnstormer – The only thrill attraction of the now extinct Mickey’s Toon Town Fair.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic – The Magic Kingdom‘s only multi-sensory 3D attraction.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – A throw away Dumbo-like attraction that is kinda just there in Adventureland.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Still a baby to the Magic Kingdom, over time, we’ll be thankful for the realistic animatronics they introduced.
Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid – Another new edition in the expanded Fantasyland section, simply an attraction that rides through the popular movie.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – Major points for beings Disney’s first attraction that keeps score like a video game!
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – The biggest history this attraction has is that it replaced Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!
Some History

Swiss Family Treehouse – One of the all-time classic non-animated Disney movies, this attraction was a part of the Magic Kingdom’s opening day attraction slate and has been enjoyed ever since.

Liberty Square Riverboat – More historical for the famous paddle-wheel design, this quick boat ride takes you around Tom Sawyer’s Island.

Mad Tea Party – From the very popular animated feature Alice in Wonderland, the “Tea Cups” can be enjoyed at high-speed spins or lazily coasting on the track.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – Every good park needs a carrousel and with the Cinderella ties, this has always been one of the Magic Kingdom’s favorite attractions.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – There is a reason Tomorrowland is still one of the more popular lands in the Magic Kingdom and travelling above it at night has always been a highlight for families.

Walt Disney World Railroad – Walt’s love of trains has been well documented so it’s no surprise that the one that runs around the entire Magic Kingdom is loaded with history.

Country Bear Jamboree – Selling out Bear Hall for years, the show has entertained millions and to make us smile with its witty jokes and songs.

Astro Orbiter – This “rocket-spinner” attraction is featured at all 5 main Disneyland-style parks around the world.

Pirates of the Caribbean – The Disneyland version was the last ride Walt oversaw the making of before his and has had several refurbishments over the years to remain on the top of everyone’s to-ride list.

Jungle Cruise – The jokes themselves never get old and the Disneyland version has been operational since Day 1.
Copious Amounts of History

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – Nostalgia meets the (then) future in this attraction that is over 50 years old. How’s this for history – It is rumored to be Walt’s favorite attraction ever! We already know that it has the greatest attraction song in history!

Haunted Mansion – Not your typical spook house or Halloween “jump-out-and-scare-ya” roadside freak show, this attraction has kept many generations in awe. From the illusions and projections inside the house to the horseless carriage and graveyard outside, no wonder 999 happy haunts have stayed over the many years.

Enchanted Tiki Room – Disney teams were at one time obsessed with Polynesian culture. Before the incredible Polynesian Resort was created, there was first this whimsical attraction. Featuring an incredible 150 birds, this attraction has survived rumored closings, revamps, fires and overhauls to remain an iconic treasure in Disney parks lore.

The Hall of Presidents – Another attraction where “history” was taken literally, what better way to learn about the office of the President of the United States then to watch every one of the men who held that office on stage at the same time? History should always give us an appreciation of the past and this attraction always makes us proud to be Americans.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Just missing Disneyland’s opening day by 3 months, every other park since has had this attraction brand new when the park opened. While the attraction itself has a monotonous circular motion, it’s the photo ops that have always made this attraction popular. Could you imagine if they went with their original idea of riding the PINK ELEPHANTS?!

“it’s a small world” – Carried over from the 1964 World’s Fair, the iconic boat ride with the original “song that never ends” was one of the original Magic Kingdom Opening Day attractions. Of course, any song written by the world famous Sherman Brothers is going to have a large amount of history as well!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – The Western Frontier is such an important historical era in American history. Thankfully, we have an attraction that pays tribute to the chaos that reigned under the majestic painted mountains of the desert. Originally designed before Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad debuted after the indoor roller coaster and there hasn’t been a more wild ride in the wilderness since!

Splash Mountain – Log flumes have always been a staple of amusement parks around the nation. But as we always said, amusement park rides with Disney imagineering takes it to a whole different level. In what may be the sign of Disney attractions to come, Splash Mountain mixes storytelling scenes with thrilling moments. Of course, your on-ride photo will always serve as a historical reminder of your experience.

Space Mountain – The icon that you can see from outside the Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain has been the threshold one crosses over, officially turning from a kid to an adult after completing one’s initial voyage. The simple formula of an indoor roller coaster in the dark will never get old.

Peter Pan’s Flight – A “suspended dark ride” sounds like it could be terrifying but come on, this is Peter Pan we’re talking about. By riding a flying pirate ship, this attraction actually pulled off the impossible task of simulating flight just like our favorite pirate fighter. Overhead tracks would soon show up in roller coasters at parks like Six Flags but this was the first true game-changer when it came to taking an inhuman concept (like flight) and having Disney Imagineering to actually pull it off!
