Last week, we had Agent Kim Gregorio share her thoughts on how you can do Disney with food allergies.  Well, her article made us hungry and a week later, we’re still craving Disney food.  Food is such a huge part of the Disney vacation experience and it is a science to figure it all out. Even during these COVID times, Disney dining is still a hot topic and with some of our beloved restaurants still undergoing modifications, it’s even more important to know all you can about the food situation.  That’s why we need the expert to weigh in…

Welcome to Believe Vacations’ Weekly Post where today, we are going to talk about Dining at Disney in 2021.  Meet Amanda Braxton.  You’ve seen her name before when we first starting getting back into the parks and she is a wonderful resource when it comes to Disney Dining.  Even in COVID times, Amanda has been a true help to her clients, making reservations and recommending quick service and snack morsels.  So we bring her onboard today for her expert advice…

Without a dining plan, is it still worth it to go to Disney? It is totally worth going to Disney even without a dining plan! I mean who would pass up the chance to go to Disney, dining plan or not?

What are some ways to save money on dining? The best ways to save money on dining are split meals & snacks. That is one perk of not having the dining plan. You can share/split meals, whereas, if you have the dining plan each person would be required to eat on their own plan and use their credits.

What food do you recommend I have in my room and what (if any) should I bring on my own to the parks? We always like to have chips, crackers, M&Ms & waters in our room. Those are good in case we just want a little snack before our next meal or late night snacks!

How do I place a mobile order? When you log into your My Disney Experience App, you will click the plus sign on the bottom of the screen. Then click on ORDER FOOD and a list of all the participating restaurants will show up. Then, you will click on the time slot you’d like. You can either order it for right then or you can place a future order.

What if I need to change my time? You can always go in and modify your pick up time.  Just click the order on your phone and select a different time.

Can adults order kid meals? Yes! Anyone can order any food item they’d like.  Another good way to save money!

How early can you book table reservations and what time does it open? – Your dining reservation day is 60 days before arrival! The perk of booking with a Vacation Planner is we will wake up at 5amCST and book your dining reservations for you!!!

What are character meals like these days? Character meals are still amazing! The food is incredible & the characters are wonderful! The characters are excited to greet the guests at each table & keep their distance. Still no hugs yet unfortunately.

What is your advice to get the harder-to-get reservations? My best piece of advice is to book with a Vacation Planner. Even if they can’t get you the dining reservation you want on dining day, they can set dining alerts to get you exactly what you want!

What is your all-time favorite snack and why? My all-time favorite snack has to be a Large Chocolate glazed donut from Joffrey’s Food Kiosk!. Coffee & a donut that’s as big as my face – it’s the best way to start the day!

What is your all-time favorite quick-service location and why? I love Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills & Casey’s Corner, all in Magic Kingdom! I love all these quick service locations, the food is always wonderful.

What is your all-time favorite table service location and why? My favorite table service location is Topolino’s Terrace. Hands down, it’s the best breakfast on Disney Property! The food is amazing, characters are so adorable (all themed like an artist, a dancer and a painter). Make sure and try their Bloody Mary’s.  They are the best! I have to eat there at least once every trip we take.

What final advice do you have for future clients? All in all, it is always worth booking with a Disney vacation planner!! Let us do the work for you, while you are dreaming of your next vacation!
